About the author

Hi, I'm Dr Priya. I started again with $45.

In India, I was a university lecturer with a PhD in Bioinformatics and nearly ten years of teaching behind me. Then my husband had an industrial accident that kept him in bed for almost eight months, and our life changed course.

We landed in Darwin with two suitcases, two young boys and $45. On my fifth day in Australia, I started a full-time job in a call centre. From lecture halls to Aussie punters!

I rebuilt a career, moved from Darwin to Adelaide to Brisbane, and learnt marketing, systems and automation late at night and early in the morning, around a full-time job. In December 2021, I left a comfortable six-figure job. My side business had made about $18,000 that year. My dad didn't speak to me for three months. I cried in the shower more than once.

None of that happened because I learnt everything first. It happened because I started with what I already knew, found someone who needed it, and let AI and automation carry the repetitive work.
